Dedicated to the memory of Professor Stuart McDonald

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the sad news that Prof Stuart McDonald, our much loved colleague and friend, sadly passed away at the end of May.

Stuart was associated with our anatomy department here in Glasgow for over 40 years during which time he contributed so much, not only here in Glasgow  but also to the wider Anatomy community. A wonderful teacher, those lucky enough to be taught by and work alongside him will share so many wonderful memories of his warmth and humour and of his fantastic chalk and talk lectures and beautiful drawings on the chalkboard – Stuart’s name is synonymous with Glasgow Anatomy. But his reach was of course much wider than Glasgow through his work with BACA and ‘Clinical Anatomy’ as well as Royal Surgical Colleges of the United Kingdom and Ireland and Police Scotland.

He was a true gentleman and will be so greatly missed.

We have set up this condolences book for any colleagues and students, past and present, who would like to post a memory or condolence message. We hope to share this with Stuart's family in time, to show them the great impact Stuart had on so many of our lives.

We also have an online collection for those who would like to contribute in his memory – we are likely to also make a possible charity donation in his name (with consent from his family). There is absolutely no pressure to donate though. https://app.collectionpot.com/pot/3108436/
